Nomane Ministry* exists to support the Bible translation, discipleship and missionary work in and with the Nomane people of Papua New Guinea.
God’s co-workers and field are:
In the USA
Kristen Chesnut – Board Chair
Kristen Chesnut worked as an attorney and Registered Nurse, licensed in both professions in California and Idaho. She spent sixteen years practicing nursing, primarily in Pediatrics, Newborn ICU and Pediatric ICU. For three of those years, she resided in Saudi Arabia, caring for the children of Saudi military parents. She began practicing law in California in 1990, retiring in 2010. After being saved as a child, she rebelled and spent approximately thirty years pursuing happiness in the world. The Lord graciously called her back, and she now seeks to “redeem the time” lost to the world, sharing the Gospel, praying for the lost and volunteering in related work.
Georgiana Pearlman – Board Financial Officer
Georgiana was born and raised in Romania. She moved to the US during high school and finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management here. She currently manages a Cloud Operations Engineer team for a top software company. Shortly after graduating highschool, she found the Lord, and has been eager to serve Him and others however possible. God has put the poor and needy on her heart, as well as evangelism. She has been involved with a few ministries including homeless ministries, bringing food/necessities to the hungry, children’s ministries, Christmas presents for the poor, abused women, pregnancy resources, etc. Being exposed to many different countries, languages and cultures growing up, she treasures the importance of spreading the Good News to all nations and tongues. Having experienced many miracles and been extended much grace in her life, she values the power of prayer and her favorite Bible verse is Hebrews 11:1
Salli Sether – Board of Directors
Salli accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in 1963 and strives to know Him better and love Him more. She earned a degree in Christian Education at Multnomah Bible University and worked for a large multinational company until retirement. She has served in both secular and sacred groups, most recently leading a ladies Bible study. Her favorite verse is Ephesians 1:7, “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”
In Papua New Guinea
Corina studied Linguistics, even before she knew the Lord. The Lord equipped her over the years and uses her life experience, travel, diverse work, skills and education, as a testimony for His amazing grace and love and faithfulness and to teach others. Currently she works with men and women in Nomane, Papua New Guinea to translate the Bible into the tribal languages of Kewo-Meba and Meine. “I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing to You among the nations. For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens, and Your truth unto the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be above all the earth.” Psalm 57:9-11
The Nomane team
11 men and 4 women – 12 from the Kewo-Meba language group and 3 from the Meine language group. They all confessed their belief in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior publicly prior to joining the translation work of the Bible into their mother tongues. They strive to be good disciples according to Luke 14:25-35
